Nottingham Forest has made a surprising start to the Premier League season, currently sitting in third place in the standings. Managed by Nuno Espírito Santo, the team is eager to achieve even more success.
As of now, Nottingham Forest has accumulated 19 points from 10 matches, trailing Manchester City by four points and sitting six points behind league leaders Liverpool. The team boasts five victories, four draws, and just one loss, with veteran striker Chris Wood in fine form, scoring eight goals—just three behind Erling Haaland, who leads the scoring charts.
Nuno Espírito Santo expressed satisfaction with his team’s performance, dedicating their early-season success to the passionate supporters. “The results we’ve achieved bring happiness to our fans. They have provided incredible support,” he stated in an interview with Mirror. He added, “The players have performed well so far, and we are continuing to develop in the right direction.”
Appointed as manager at the end of December 2023, Nuno previously managed Wolverhampton Wanderers, Tottenham Hotspur, and Al Ittihad before returning to England. Last season, Nottingham Forest narrowly avoided relegation, finishing in 17th place, but they have bounced back impressively this year.
Nuno’s impact has been notable, transforming Nottingham Forest from a relegation-threatened side to a contender at the top of the table. However, he remains focused on the future, emphasizing that there is still room for improvement. “We are focused on one game at a time. We can still perform better,” he asserted.
Looking ahead, Nottingham Forest faces a challenging run of fixtures in the Premier League, including matches against Arsenal and the Manchester clubs, City and United. Nuno is determined to maintain the team’s momentum and warns against complacency, stating, “Believe me, if you let your guard down for even a moment, football will punish you immediately.”
