Vietnam’s Coach Kim Sam-sik to Scout Indonesia and the Philippines Ahead of AFF Cup 2024

Vietnam’s national team coach, Kim Sam-sik, is set to closely monitor two of his team’s rivals in the upcoming AFF Cup 2024: Indonesia and the Philippines.

Vietnam is placed in Group B of the tournament, alongside Indonesia, the Philippines, Laos, and Myanmar. Indonesia and the Philippines are regarded as Vietnam’s toughest opponents in the group stage.

To prepare for the competition, Kim Sam-sik has decided to take an early start by traveling to Jakarta and Manila to observe the matches of both teams during the FIFA matchday in mid-November.

The Indonesian national team will play two crucial matches in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers for the Asian zone, facing Japan on November 15 and Saudi Arabia on November 19.

“To prepare for the AFF Cup 2024, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) and I have been analyzing our opponents in Group B through video recordings of their recent matches,” Kim Sam-sik stated, as reported by Vietnamese media outlet Techz.vn on Thursday (October 31, 2024).

“My coaching staff and I are closely monitoring the preparations of teams like Indonesia and the Philippines.”

“In November, I will visit Indonesia and the Philippines to watch their matches, which we will analyze further. We are not afraid of facing Indonesia,” he added.
